Attendance Policies


Parent 2021 Attendance Reminders   

Please note EXCUSE POLICY CHANGES, due to high volume of emails and junk mail/spam delays.

FACE to FACE on campus-student learners, ALL EXCUSES (parent & medical) MUST BE HAND DELIVERED TO THE ATTENDANCE WINDOW BY 9:00am daily. EMAILS are NO LONGER ACCEPTED!

MT or Covid Excuses:

Any excuses, lab/test results, etc. - email Nurse Pippin ( not attendance.
Please allow Mrs. Pippin, Mrs. Waits, and Mrs. Mathis at least two days, to gather all information; collect, confirm, and process before emailing or calling with questions (PHD, connected schools, contact tracing, lab results).

We appreciate your patience’s during this time.



REMINDER- students are only allowed 4 parent excuses per semester. 


Check-Out procedures and Transportation/Bus changes:
Phone and email request are not accepted. Students must turn in a handwritten parent note (phone # included) by 9:00 AM on the day of the intended check-out or bus change. Otherwise, an authorized person on check out list, will need to come into the building and sign them out in the attendance office.
Students may NOT CHECK OUT or leave campus to pick up lunch. NO outside food (restaurant) may be brought in by a student, ordered and/or delivered for the students. NO food service deliveries! (Grub Hub, Door Dash, etc.)
NO check outs permitted after 3:00 PM.

Driver’s Permit and Parking Passes:

Students needing a Certificate of Enrollment or ADAP must message Tiffany Taff on Schoology. Requests must be submitted by Wednesday to receive on Friday. Mrs. Taff will message Distance Learners when their form is ready to pick up at the front office. We can not email these forms. 
Students must pick up Parking Pass parent paperwork in attendance window, PRIOR to purchase. This includes both in person & online payments. Student must have driver's license, current insurance, payment or proof of payment and parent paperwork before purchase.


Work Permits:

Only 14- and 15-year-old students a need work permit.
Please read the instructions listed here for detail on how to obtain a work permit through the GA Department of Labor. 



College Day and NO Penalty Absences:

These days require PRIOR APPROVAL BEFORE the scheduled absence. Requested sheets are available in the attendance window and must have parent, teacher, and administrative signature for approval. A copy is available online for Distance Learners (under News/Announcements or Guidance link). Fill out form and submit prior to the visit so the teachers are aware of the excused absence.
